Tammy Renée Brackett is a new media artist whose work questions how the manipulations of science and mass media come to define human epistemology on both the individual and collective scale. She continuously explores the blurry ethics of a frenetic acceleration in acquiring scientific knowledge.
Brackett has an MFA in Electronic Integrated Art from the School of Art and Design at Alfred University and has exhibited work in China, Japan, Croatia, Hungary, and the United States. She is a recipient of the College Art Association Professional Development Fellowship for Visual Artists, funded by the NEA. Her work has been included in the Albright Knox’s biennial exhibition, Beyond/In Western NY in 2005 and 2007. Her interactive installation, (In)formation, was included in the IDEAS2009 exhibition at the Ball State Museum of Art.
Brackett is currently an Assistant Professor of Digital Media and Animation and Director of the Llewellyn Art Gallery at Alfred State College, Alfred NY.
